1 dead, 1 injured in crash involving 2 Oakland police vehicles

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials say that one person is dead and another is injured after a car traveling at high speed hit two Oakland police vehicles. No police officers were injured.

This happened just before 1 a.m. Police were on the scene for a different incident on 35th Avenue near Brookdale.

Officials say that while they were on the scene, the speeding car hit the patrol cars and then hit something else.

The driver of the car that hit the OPD vehicles was transported to the hospital and the passenger died, according to police.

No police officers were injured.
