Inside look at supermodel Roshumba Williams' Oscar gown fitting
Take a look behind the scenes as Los Angeles-based designer Juan Carlos Obando creates On The Red Carpet's fashion expert Roshumba Williams' custom gown for the Oscars.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles-based designer Juan Carlos Obando has dressed Hollywood A-listers from Julia Roberts to Angelina Jolie. Take a look behind the scenes as he creates On The Red Carpet's fashion expert Roshumba Williams' custom gown for the Oscars.

There is lot of measuring involved. Measurements are essential to create a gown that is the perfect fit just for Roshumba.

Obando then has her step into a muslin skirt to discuss the style and fit for the gown.

From there, Obando creates sketches of possible gown designs and shows Roshumba fabric choices.

The fabric is custom made with all the special sequins embroidered onto it by hand. Once the gown is finished, more hand sewing is done, called demi-couture, to get everything perfect. It's that attention to detail Obando puts into all of his pieces.

The day Roshumba picked up her gown, she learned she's not the only one who will be wearing one of Obando's creations on Oscar Sunday.

ABC7's Kristen Aldridge will be joined by runway and lifestyle expert Roshumba Williams and fashion photographer Yu Tsai to cover red carpet fashion at the Oscars.

Watch the Oscars on ABC on Feb. 28! Live red carpet coverage begins at 5 p.m. ET | 4 p.m. CT | 2 p.m. PT with "ON THE RED CARPET AT THE OSCARS." Check your local listings.
