Woman, child taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Petaluma

PETALUMA, Calif. -- A woman and a child who were struck by a vehicle in Petaluma late Monday morning were taken to a hospital, a Sonoma County emergency dispatcher said.

The incident happened near Walnut Park around 11:30 a.m., the dispatcher said.

Petaluma police said the collision closed eastbound D Street at Fourth Street.
