Painted Lady butterflies ready to swarm SoCal

About one billion small butterflies, known as Painted Ladies, are flying north from the deserts of Mexico.

Experts said it's an unusually large migration prompted by all of the heavy rain.

People in places like Burbank, San Bernardino, and Hermosa Beach have captured them on camera.

The butterflies are yellowish, orange and black.

They're about the size of a silver dollar.
