Rogue emu caught after romping in the Bay Area
San Mateo County sheriff deputies find an Emu that wandered onto Skyline Boulevard. The Emu was eventually brought back home safely.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- A very big bird was on the loose in San Mateo County Wednesday.

It had wandered onto Skyline Boulevard where it could easily have been hit by a car.

Fortunately, San Mateo County Sheriff deputies found it and brought it back to safety.

And while deputies said it was an "EMUsing call", they lamented that it declined to take a selfie with our deputies.
