ALAMEDA, Calif. (KGO) -- The Alameda Animal Shelter is at risk of closing because of budget problems. The shelter says it's under-funded and running out of money.

Next week, pet owners will rally to save the shelter and keep it open.

They will be gathering outside of City Hall Tuesday night while the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter plead their case before the city council.

The shelter is one of our ABC7 Perfect Pet partners.

You can see them on the Friday segment during ABC7 News at 11 a.m.
