WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- There is a happy ending to the bunny caper in Walnut Creek. All three of the animals have been returned to the Valle Verde Children's Center and appear happy to be back together.

"Buster," one of three stolen bunnies, was returned to the Walnut Creek day care center where he lives March 24, 2015.

Two of the rabbits were returned on Tuesday during the day and the third was brought back Tuesday evening.

The thieves left a letter acknowledging it was a "bad idea."

Security video captured a group of teenage boys and girls taking the rabbits.
