Redwood City shelter that rescued 'Smurf' the cat in need of donations

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Smurf the kitten is making quite a transformation after two months of recovery.

In January, Smurf the cat was found dyed blue and covered in bite wounds and lacerations.

The Nine Lives Foundation in Redwood City posted new pictures on their Facebook page and the shelter is asking for any donations to help with their move when their lease expires this summer.

This image shows "Smurf" just after he was rescued from San Jose, Calif. and "Smurf" Feb. 19, 2016, months after he was rescued, snuggling up with "Wanda," a blind tuxedo cat.
