PINOLE, Calif. -- Police are searching for two men suspected of firing several shots at a couple in front of their home during the course of an attempted robbery in Pinole on Tuesday.
The fracas started around 10:15 p.m. when a woman pulled into her driveway in the 2500 block of Moraga Drive, and was confronted by two men who demanded her purse. One of the suspects then began shooting into the car, shattering at least one of the windows, according to Pinole police.
Hearing the commotion, the woman's husband opened the front door of the house to check on his wife and was shot at several times by one of the suspects, police said.
Neither the husband nor the wife was hit by the gunfire but the woman suffered cuts to her hands from the shattered glass, police said.
The two men, who were wearing dark clothes with their faces covered, then ran off. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Pinole Police Department at (510) 724-1111.
