Police investigate fatal officer-involved shooting in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Oakland Sunday night.

Police said several police officers shot and killed a person who pointed a gun at them.

The incident occurred in the area of 90th and Bancroft avenues as uniformed officers were having vehicles towed from a sideshow, according to police.

Police said the firearm used by the suspect that officers recovered at the scene is a replica firearm.

Officers performed CPR on the person immediately after the shooting and paramedics arrived a short time later, police said.

No officers were injured, according to police.
