SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Bicyclists stopped pedaling for a few minutes to write San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, urging him to make city streets safer for those walking and riding bikes.

"You can make a difference, please write Mayor today. We will handle deliver your letter to the Mayor,"

ABC7 News was at Seventh and Folsom streets as the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition passed out paper, clipboards, and pens.

Cyclists wrote their notes at the same corner where a woman was killed while cycling last Wednesday.

Another woman riding a bicycle also died last Wednesday. A car hit her in Golden Gate Park.

Mayor Lee hasn't commented on the call for increased safety.
