Zuckerberg addresses Facebook Live shooting at F8 Conference in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed a shooting that was broadcast live on the social network, and how it should be a catalyst for change for the company at a conference in San Jose Tuesday.

Zuckerberg talks about the impact the digital world can have on the real world at every F8 conference, but rarely has there been such a fresh and tragic example as Tuesday's.

He addressed the murder and the victim's family as he talked about bringing together communities and finding common ground. "We have a lot more to do here, and we're reminded of this this week by the tragedy in Cleveland. We have a lot of work and we will keep doing all we can to prevent tragedies like this from happening," Zuckerberg said.

Zuckerberg's remarks are the just latest response from Facebook following the shooting. Yesterday in a blog post the company said it was not quick enough to take down the video of the killing, or the confession on Facebook Live that followed.

Facebook relies on users to flag content that's illegal or violent. But, Zuckerberg has said they're working on a proactive approach with artificial intelligence.
