TREASURE ISLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Although women still make up a small number of tech workers, a new tech campus going up in San Leandro is going to have a prominent woman at the front.

A 55-foot steel sculpture of a woman that lit up Burning Man four years ago is being re-assembled by the artist in his Treasure Island studio. It depicts a woman with her head thrown back and outstretched arms.

"The feeling is self-acceptance," said artist Marco Cochrane. "I had people walk up to me and say, I love my body for the first time ever, after seeing this piece. And that is not the safe as, 'I should look like her'."

"Truth is Beauty" will be installed this summer at the San Leandro tech campus located near the BART station. The sculpture will be lit with 2,500 LED lights.
