DAVIS, Calif. (KGO) -- An injured dog is on the mend thanks to the medical staff at UC Davis veterinary hospital and some enterprising students.

They used a 3-D printed mask to help fix Loca's face. The sweet pup was only four months when she arrived at UC Davis with a fractured skull - after a devastating an attack by another dog.

While the surgeons treated her wounds, students worked on a 3-D printed exoskeleton for her skull.

Loca is the first dog to be outfitted with the mask, which serves as a cast, and it worked! We're told Loca is doing well.
