Austin James Vincent remains accused of attacking a woman outside her apartment building near the Embarcadero in San Francisco. But the District Attorney's Office says charges will be dropped in another case involving an assault against a woman and her friends in February.

The office tells ABC7 that Vincent was mis-identified in that case.

"We received additional information indicating that the defendant was in Southern California at the time of the February incident. That information has been confirmed by the San Francisco Police Department. As a result, we will be dropping those charges," said Alex Bastian, Director of Communications.
