SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- All those toys donated at Toys for Tots bins were being handed out on Friday in San Bruno.

Community groups showed up at the Marine Reserve Center to pick up the toys, which they will hand out to kids before Christmas.

The rain made it a little tough to load the toys Friday afternoon. It has also dampened the giving mood. Donations are down this year.

"Trying to give at least, especially to the non-profit organizations, at least 75 percent or 50 percent of what they are asking for. Some children that got two or three toys this year will get maybe only one this year. But we are still trying to make that happen for them," 1st Sgt. Angel Gomez with the U.S. Marines.

The Toys for Tots program has 10,000 orders to fill this year.

There is still have time to donate. The marines will be collecting toys until Monday.
