Study: Financial infidelity common in American households

If you're secretly spending behind your spouse or partner's back, apparently you're not alone.

A study out Wednesday says 1 in 5 Americans have hidden a purchase of $500 or more from their significant other. That's according to a new poll by CreditCards.com.

The study also found men are twice as likely as women to be secret spenders.

And more than 7 million Americans are believed to have a bank account or credit card that their spouse doesn't know exists.
