SUNDANCE, Utah (KGO) -- There was a rush to save a young boy as he dangled from a ski lift in Utah. Cellphone video from a bystander caught the minute-by-minute effort to pull him to safety.
The boy became stuck Wednesday when his backpack caught on the lift at Sundance Mountain when he tried to get off. But it was only his backpack that kept him from plummeting to the snow.
The lift was stopped as rescuers tried to get him down, but the straps were causing serious pain in his arms. Ski patrol tried to comfort the boy as they rushed to save him.
Rescuers were able to get a ladder to him and, moments later, they got a harness around the child and were able to lift him to safety.
