SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Artist Matt Christenson is bringing a little bit of South America to San Francisco. His team is painting a mural showing a Brazilian rainforest at the corner of Mission Street and Brazil Avenue.

Christenson hopes passerby will do more than just see his mural. "I just want them to kind of go to a different place," he said. "We're surrounded by so much concrete and, you know, just people busy and not thinking about their surroundings. I want them to just kind of, like, just think about something different, change their perspective."

Christenson, who teaches art at a nearby high school, said he likes creating street murals because they bring art to the people without them having to pay to visit a museum.
