Those friends were Redwood City Police officers, San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies, and Redwood City firefighters.
The agencies collected and donated presents all year long to deliver them to deserving families in the area.

It actually takes several Santas, and many elves three nights to get to all the homes and instead of his usual sleigh he hitches a ride on a fire engine or in a police patrol car.

This year, the teams are delivering gifts to about 750 families. That's an estimated 10,000 -12,000 toys!
The volunteers say seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of the children when Santa shows up at their door is priceless.
