SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco Public Defenders and their allies rallied on the steps of the Hall of Justice Thursday.

They stood in solidarity with protesters across the country and called for racial justice and change in law enforcement.

"People have to realize that black and brown lives matter," deputy public defender Chris Hite said.

"There is a tipping point," Jeff Adachi said. "The reality of what's happening in the country. As public defenders, this is something that we know."

Similar protests were held in front of courthouses across the Bay Area Thursday.
