VICTORIA, Texas (KGO) -- Two police officers in Texas are being praised after a photo of them buying groceries for a family in need hit the web.

Senior Officer Bryan Knief and Cadet Officer Anthony Vacarro were on duty when they were called out to a home in Victoria.

While there they noticed the family had no food, so they decided to help out.

Rebecca Vasquez was behind them in the checkout line and asked them what they were up to.

"They just felt the need that they needed to, in the kindness of their hearts, to go and buy this family food," she said. "And I just thought it was awesome."

Vasquez was so impressed she snapped a picture of the officers and posted it on Facebook.

For the photo's caption she wrote, "Behind these guys at Walmart they're (sic) basket of food was full of groceries and I asked them about it and they said they were helping a family in need!! They stopped at a house n (sic) the family didn't have any food so they are paying for it with their own money. Goes to show u (sic) how good Victorians can be!!!"

Vasquez also called the officers a "blessing" to the community.
