49ers release player arrested for domestic violence
The San Francisco 49ers didn't waste any time after cornerback Tramaine Brock got arrested on a felony domestic violence charge. The team has announced that he's been released.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with the fallout of another player in trouble with the law. Cornerback Tramaine Brock was arrested by Santa Clara police after a woman called them to his townhouse. The team wasted no time cutting him.

He may be fast on the field, but not fast enough to slip past me as he left the county jail. We were the only ones to talk to him as he was released.

ABC7 News reporter David Louie caught 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock as he was leaving jail following an arrest on domestic violence charges.

Brock's arrest put the Niners on the spot again over whether the player can stay with team after others were released after their arrests.

Santa Clara police say the report of domestic violence brought them to a cluster of townhouses on Headen Way about 9:35 p.m. Thursday. Officers say the woman who had called police had visible injuries and was in a dating relationship with Brock.

A mugshot of Brock was taken when he was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for felony domestic violence.

ABC7 News was there when he was released on bail around noon on Friday.

When asked what happened, he answered, "I ain't really got nothing to say about it."

Brock was wearing a 49ers cap as he slipped quickly into a white Audi that was waiting for him at the curb. He then disappeared for about an hour before the car was spotted behind his Santa Clara townhouse. The car made a quick move and Brock sprinted into his townhouse, not saying a word.

Only one neighbor was home at the time, who told me she didn't hear any disturbance on Thursday night. She has seen a young boy living there. What appeared to be girls' toys were left on the front porch.

It's pure speculation what Brock did during the hour between leaving jail and arriving home. Did he meet with Niners' management? Did he have lunch? Or see an attorney?

A short time later, the Niners announced they were releasing Brock.

The cornerback was entering the last year of a four-year, $16 million contract with the team. He was to earn a reported $3.1 million in the next season.

This is the first case of a domestic violence arrest facing new Niners General Manager John Lynch and new Head Coach Lyle Shanahan.

The team's past leadership has had to deal with a string of violence cases involving Aldon Smith, Ray McDonald, and Bruce Miller.
