UC Berkeley running back Patrick Laird speaks to ABC7 News Sports Anchor Mike Shumann

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Last week, Cal running back Patrick Laird rushed for a career-high 214 yards. On Tuesday, he was nominated as a semi-finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, which is awarded to the best NCAA player to begin their career as a walk-on.

Laird is a football player, an avid reader, and dabbles in music production - with a single out on iTunes. During Cal's bye week, he sat down with Mike Shumann on After The Game.
