INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts agreed with former Canadian Football League receiver Duron Carter on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carter, the son of Hall of Fame receiver and current ESPN analyst Cris Carter, spent the past two seasons with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes, where he finished with 124 receptions, 1,939 yards and 12 touchdowns.

"His length is what jumps out right off the bat and his ability to make the big play with that length in a variety of ways," Colts general manager Ryan Grigson told the team's official website. "He has very good quickness and wiggle for his size and has excellent ability to adjust to the ball in air."

The Colts are in a good position if Duron Carter has talent similar to his father's. But his road to the NFL has not been easy.

He played a season at Ohio State, where he caught 13 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. He then attended Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College, Alabama and Florida Atlantic before going undrafted in 2013.

Carter, 23, will help provide depth at receiver for the Colts. T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief are their only other receivers currently under contract next season, as veterans Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks are free agents. Wayne hasn't announced whether he plans to play a 15th NFL season.
