Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints announce Thanksgiving Day halftime performers
DETROIT, Mich. -- Turkey Day in Detroit will be lit this year.
Not only are the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears on Thursday, for the 82nd annual Thanksgiving Day Classic, but the musical acts are swagged out in Motown as Detroit native Big Sean is set to rock Ford Field as the halftime performer and Grammy Award-winning singer Ne-Yo will deliver the national anthem.
Big Sean is a multiplatinum artist who got his start with Kanye West after signing to G.O.O.D. Music in 2007.
He has appeared on tracks with megastars in the industry such as Drake, Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Eminem and Chris Brown.
The NFL's Thanksgiving games will feature more musical acts throughout the day, with the "Human Jukebox" marching band from Southern University performing at halftime of the New Orleans Saints ' game in the Caesars Superdome against the Buffalo Bills.
In Dallas, country music singer Luke Combs will headline the halftime show for the Cowboys vs.Las Vegas Raiders game at AT&T Stadium.
Back to the Detroit slate, Ne-Yo has won three Grammys since bursting onto the music scene in 2005 with his hit single "So Sick," which peaked at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. He has also written songs for artists such as Beyoncé, Usher, Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion.
The Lions, who have played in the Thanksgiving game since 1934, are entering the annual contest with a winless record (0-9-1) for the third time in their franchise history but hope to change that against Chicago.
