NBA Finals: Warriors to play for Kevin Durant in last game at Oracle Arena

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The final Golden State Warriors game will be played at Oracle Arena tonight. The Dubs are vowing to win the game for Kevin Durant who is recovering from surgery to his ruptured Achilles.

Shirts have been placed on the seats that say "Stay Golden," as the Dubs quest for a three-peat continues. Fans will also receive rally towels that say "For Oakland," which highlight the K and D, honoring Durant.

KD injured his Achilles in Game 5 and shared a photo after his surgery. KD says he knows his brothers can go onto win without him tonight. Doctors say he will have a long road to recovery.

"There is no heal-o-meter that you can put on this and really tell how long it's going to take. The estimate is somewhere between 8 and 12 months. You know, it's an injury that not only has to recover, but then his muscle has to recover, its strength," said John Belzer, M.D., California Pacific Orthopaedics.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. is feeling emotional about the historical night.

"I won't lie, I am sad. I'm born and raised in this city. I have spent my whole life driving by that arena, knowing my Warriors, this world class team, is coming to my town. Especially this team that has kind of an Oakland ethos. They hustle, they grind, they have grit and persistence," said Schaaf.

Pat Monahan from "Train" will perform the U.S. national anthem. Sarah McLachlan will perform the Canadian national anthem before the game.
