ATLANTA --Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will miss Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a hip injury.

Jones suffered the injury in Monday night's 43-37 loss at Green Bay. He did not practice all week, although coach Mike Smith maintained that Jones could play in the game without any practice time.

Jones caught 11 passes for a career-best 259 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's loss. The fourth-year receiver did not finish the game after hurting his hip in the fourth quarter.

Jones might have gone for 300 had he not been sidelined for his team's final offensive series due to the hip injury. The Falcons managed to score without him onHarry Douglas' 2-yard catch thatcut the Falcons' deficit to six points, down from 24 at halftime. But it went for naught as the Packers recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.

Jones supplanted the Steelers' Antonio Brown as the NFL leader in receiving yards despite missing the end of the Packers game.

The 6-3, 220-pound Jones has 1,428 receiving yards -- Brown is second in the league with 1,375 yards.

Starting strong safetyWilliam Moore, who has a foot injury, also is out Sunday.
