OAKLAND, Calif. -- Right fielder Josh Reddick has been activated from the disabled list to make his season debut Sunday against the Seattle Mariners and Oakland nemesis Felix Hernandez.

The Athletics optioned rookie infielder-outfielder Tyler Ladendorf to Triple-A Nashville.

Reddick, who hasn't felt pain in his strained right oblique muscle for some time, played a pair of games for Class-A Stockton but had hoped to return Saturday. He had to wait an extra day and says "it still eats under my skin a little bit."

He started and batted eighth for the series finale. Manager Bob Melvin expects to move Reddick up in the order once he gets a rhythm with his swing. He went 1 for 7 on his rehab assignment.

Ladendorf tripled in his first major league at-bat Wednesday night against Texas.
