This morning President Trump weighed in tweeting "great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of the season. Attendance and ratings way down."

Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf fired back "Oakland loves our Lynch. Let's suspend Trump instead."

Later at a press conference, Schaaf said "I'm tired of the bully-in-chief not doing his job and picking on people. He is supposed to act like the president. He is supposed to lead every person in this country and he's failing to do that. "

Lynch's mom waded into the Twitter feud saying "what NFL team do Trump own? Oh yeah they wouldn't let him have one."

Raiders coach Jack Delrio's wife even tweeted before she made her account private "President Trump I voted for you which I now regret." She cited the team's charitable work in Mexico.

Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio joked about his wife's tweet as he recapped the game. He said he thinks everyone should stand at attention and respect the flag but he added it's America and everyone can make their choice.

The standoff will likely continue this Sunday. Some Bay area activists are planning to support Marshawn by taking a knee in front of the Oakland Coliseum before the Broncos game.
