Sergio Aguero 'surprised' by Robben

Sergio Aguero said he was "surprised" to read that Netherlands winger Arjen Robben believes Argentina have no chance in Sunday's World Cup final.

Argentina put the Dutch out on penalties after 120 attritional minutes on Wednesday, the night after Germany had destroyed hosts Brazil 7-1 -- a record margin in a World Cup semifinal.

The demolition job left Robben, one of the stars of the World Cup, unequivocal when asked who he thought would triumph at the Maracana.

"Germany's going to win the World Cup. No doubt about that. The Argentines will not stand a chance," kicker quoted the Bayern Munich man as saying.

But speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Aguero responded by saying: "We do not bother about what those outside say -- although his comments surprised me."

The Manchester City forward added that he believed Joachim Low's team would be under pressure because they are widely expected to win.

"Germany, since the World Cup started, were named as the favourites alongside Brazil," he said. "We have to think about our play. It is useful for us that all the pressure is on them.

"We are not in the final by chance. If you have any loose change you should bet it on Argentina, without a doubt."

Aguero returned from a thigh injury to feature as a substitute against Netherlands, converting the third penalty in the 4-2 shootout win.

"When you come back from injury, in the back of your mind you are worried about it happening again," he said.

"But if I get called up to play in the final, I will try to find the energy from wherever to do it as well as possible."

Germany demolished Argentina 4-0 when the teams met in the last eight of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and Aguero said: "At the last World Cup, the first goal changed the game and we grew desperate.

"Now we must be relaxed and not commit again the mistakes of that game."
