SAN JOSE (KGO) -- The San Jose Earthquakes officially kicked-off their new Avaya Stadium with the first game held there Saturday. It was an exhibition against the defending MLS champions, the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The stadium holds 18,000 people but the Earthquakes only sold 10,000 tickets for their soft opening.

The Earthquakes won 3-2. The season begins in one week.

The first regular season home game is March 22nd. It is a sold-out home opener against Chicago.
