Golden State Warriors opening night game to be broadcast in virtual reality

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- NBA officials announced Tuesday that they will broadcast the Golden State Warriors opening night game in high definition virtual reality.

It will be the first time ever that a live professional sporting event is being broadcast in virtual reality.

It's being made possible by NextVR, a company that captures and delivers live and on-demand virtual reality experiences.

A special viewing area will be available at Oracle Arena Tuesday night.

Fans wearing an Oculus head set can watch a live stream of the game.
