Sharon Stone reads Brock Turner victim's impact statement at Santa Clara University
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- Actress Sharon Stone is lending her celebrity to battle sexual assault.

She spoke this morning at Santa Clara University as part of a symposium to battle the problem on college campuses.
Stone's star power was meant to grab news headlines across the nation.
The summit aims to tackle the issue of sexual assault on campus as a community with as many voices as possible.
Stone passionately read a letter written by the woman assaulted by Stanford swimmer Brock Turner.
Turner's conviction of six months in jail made national headlines, many calling it grossly too short and consequently demanding the judge on the case be disbarred.
"A night of drinking can ruin two lives, you and me," Stone read. "You are the cause, I am the effect. You have dragged me through hell with you, dipped me back into that night again and again."
The actress made no public comment, simply thanking the anonymous victim known only as Emily Doe.
"For girls everywhere I am with you, thank you. And thank you so much Emily Doe," Stone said.
This comes after another well-known actress; Amber Heard read the same letter Wednesday.
Friday's event is intended to raise awareness about sexual assaults among students and share solutions about how to protect students and survivors.
