SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Here's something you might want to tweet about, and no need to keep it short.

Tech blog Re/code reports that Twitter is building a new product that will allow users to share tweets longer than 140 characters.

The San Francisco-based social media giant is looking for ways to attract new users.

Twitter has already eliminated the 140 character limit for direct messages.

This would be the company's first longer form product within Twitter, not counting images that can show more text.
