Tesla employee arrested after bringing gun to work
A Tesla employee was arrested after a gun he brought to work accidentally discharged Tuesday night, according to police.

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- A Tesla employee was arrested after a gun he brought to work accidentally discharged Tuesday night, according to police.

Fremont police were dispatched to the plant shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday and arrested 28-year-old Reginald Simon of Oakland.

Police say Simon had a gun that accidentally fired into the floor when he was clearing it. It wasn't clear how the employee was discovered to be in possession of the gun.

A Tesla employee called police to say he had heard that the gun was discovered when it fell out of the employee's backpack.
