SF food truck owner appearing on ABC's 'The Chew'

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A unique taste of San Francisco is coming to ABC's popular day time food show "The Chew."

The Del Popolo food truck and owner Jon Darsky will be featured on the program Thursday.

The truck is so popular that customers in the Financial District will wait up to 20 minutes or more for a slice.

The truck features a 5,000 pound wood fire oven built into a shipping container. And the amenities don't stop there.

"We designed it with these big windows to show the open kitchen, just like a restaurant," Darsky said. "This area where I'm standing right now is where the customer service takes place. It's lower than the rest of the truck, so the customers and servers can be eye-to-eye."

The truck usually sells three types of pizzas per day.

You'll see some of his recipes on "The Chew" on ABC at noon Thursday.
