All lanes of I-580 reopened after fatal crash
All lanes of westbound I-580 in Pleasanton have reopened after a fatal collision involving six vehicles.

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- California Highway Patrol officials said all lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton have reopened this morning after a fatal collision involving six vehicles, including a big-rig.

The crash was reported at 5:55 a.m. just west of Hopyard Road, according to the CHP.

At least three vehicles caught fire in the collision and one person was killed, CHP officials said.

Multiple lanes were closed following the crash, prompting the CHP to allow all drivers to use the express lane on the highway. All lanes reopened as of 9:07 a.m.
