Eastbound lanes on Bay Bridge in San Francisco reopen after police activity

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Police activity closed all eastbound lanes of the Bay Bridge Wednesday morning near the 4th Street off-ramp in San Francisco.

Traffic from the Peninsula is advised to use I-280 northbound into downtown San Francisco. Drivers can enter the Bay Bridge on either Bryant and 2nd or Harrison at 1st/Essex Street on-ramps.

The roadway reopened around 1:30 p.m., according to the CHP.

A person present on the bridge during the lane closure surrendered to authorities, the highway patrol said.
