HICKORY HILLS, Ill. -- A multi-vehicle crash brought I-294 to a standstill on Monday morning in Illinois. No one was seriously injured, but dozens of cars were involved in the crash on the Tri-State Tollway just north of 95th Street near Hickory Hills.

Around 9:30 a.m., two semis jackknifed, triggering the multi-vehicle crash near mile marker 18, officials said. About 60 vehicles were involved in the crashes. Only minor injuries are reported. The crash closed the road for almost two hours. Southbound traffic is being routed off of I-294, but vehicles that were involved or backed up due to the crash are slowly moving. Crews still have to remove the wreckage and salt the pavement.

While Illinois State Police are leading the investigation, emergency responders from several southwest suburban departments responded.
