Tiburon ferry service may be reduced to one round trip a day

TIBURON, Calif (KGO) -- There could be changes coming commuters who depend on the Tiburon Ferry.

The popular service to get across the Bay is privately operated by the Blue and Gold Fleet. It's in financial straits and needs to make cuts -- that is unless the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District steps in.

Members plan to decide today whether to study the cost and other complications associated with a possible takeover. There is a chance the ferry may have to reduce service to one round trip a day.
