Trailer with pizza oven hits family car, kills one

PETALUMA, Calif. (KGO) -- One person was killed Friday night after a trailer with a pizza oven broke free from a van and crashed into a family car near Petaluma.

The massive oven came loose from the van on Lakeville Highway, south of town at 7:30 p.m. It went directly into oncoming traffic.

The oven slammed into a car with a family of four inside. One parent was killed. The other parent and two children were rushed to hospitals with major injuries.

Officers are now trying to determine if the oven trailer was hitched correctly.
