BURLINGAME, Calif. (KGO) -- Police arrested two people accused of stealing prescription drugs at a Walgreens pharmacy in Burlingame.
Store surveillance video revealed a suspects jumping over the pharmacy counter to confront one of the workers. "He brandished a knife at the pharmacist, at which point the pharmacist got on the ground and the suspect proceeded through the pharmacy, the back area, collecting prescription pills," Burlingame Police Department Inspector Jeff Schoenstein said.
The suspect took 3,200 prescription pills of Xanax and Hydrocodone.
They can be sold for about $15 each on the street.
Two other suspects in the store stood by to watch in case anyone was coming.
Police were able to arrest the two suspects while investigating a stolen car in Hayward, where they recovered some of the pills.
