BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Renowned UC Berkeley men's crew coach Mike Teti is denying accusations he failed to report a sexual assault claim against one of his rowers.

Our media partner the Mercury News reports Cal has hired an outside investigator to examine the 2013 incident. A former female member of the team claims she told the coach she had been sexually assaulted at a team party. She claims instead of reporting it, Teti told her "you're no angel anyway."

In a statement to the Mercury, Teti says the "allegations are completely false" and he's confident any investigation will prove this.
