SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Love is in the air this Valentine's Day and especially in San Francisco's Castro District.

A special proposal happened with a mural on 18th Street at the Kasa Indian Eatery

The mural features two men, Camiel and George.

Camiel, who helped plan the artwork, wanted to surprise his partner Sunday afternoon with a proposal.

The artist, Deb, says the mural has an important message about race and same-sex marriage.

"It's covering different types of prejudice," she said. "Love is love, that's the message. Love conquers everything and anyone can be in love."

George said yes and the couple celebrated with friends.
