Man in custody after alleged bomb threat to VTA system
Law enforcement officers have taken a 42-year-old man into custody who allegedly threatened to carry out a suicide bombing on a VTA.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Law enforcement officers have taken a 42-year-old man into custody who allegedly threatened to carry out a suicide bombing on a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority vehicle this morning, transit agency officials said.



Jonathan Keim made a phone call and sent an email to VTA officials sometime after 10 a.m. stating that he planned to execute the bombing on one of the agency's vehicles, VTA spokeswoman Stacey Hendler Ross said.



All VTA vehicles were stopped and searched, Hendler Ross said.


No other details about the case were immediately available this morning.
