Comcast customers told to reset password following breach
There is a warning being issued for Comcast customers. About 200,000 people had their accounts compromised and are being told to reset their passwords.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- There is a warning being issued for Comcast customers.

About 200,000 people had their accounts compromised and are being told to reset their passwords.

The situation is unique because Comcast says their network wasn't breached. What has happened is that the list of emails and passwords was compiled from information floating around after past, shared hacks of other companies.

USA Today is reporting that the Comcast discovered the information may be being sold online by black market brokers.

"This could happen to any company. That's why it's important to remember to reset your passwords, make them difficult to guess," explained CNET reporter Laura Hautala.

Security experts have a few suggestions. First, avoid phishing emails that ask for your login credentials. Instead, login on the company website.

Also don't store sensitive information in your email account.

And, if you use the same password on Comcast as other sites, make sure to change the password everywhere.
