Steph Curry makes dreams come true for Make-A-Wish kids
Young fans with life-threatening medical conditions got to meet the Warriors superstar they requested to see through Make-A-Wish.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry made dreams come true for 10 young fans from across the country. The kids all have life-threatening medical conditions and requested to meet Curry through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Curry has always emphasized the importance of being humble and on Wednesday night, he was humbled by 10 boys, battling life-threatening diseases, whose biggest wish was to meet him.

Make-a-Wish recipient Qwavon Christian said, "I couldn't believe it. I thought I was dreaming for a second."

It's no dream. He was really sitting courtside, wearing his new Steph Curry shoes, while watching his hero warm up for a home game. Earlier, Qwavon and Curry found something in common.

Curry said to him, "I'm from Charlotte. Have you heard that? That's where I grew up. You come from the same state as me."

It has been a dream come true for 10 Make-A-Wish recipients from around the country. Their biggest wish was to meet the most valuable player in the NBA.

"He's an awesome basketball player. He's just a great role model and I just love everything he does," Make-A-Wish recipient Alex Lowe said.

Edgar Cantu, from Edinburg Texas, admires Curry for overcoming his early career obstacles and his "never give up" attitude. Edgar has been fighting a rare form of fast-growing cancer.

Edgar said he went through "four years of chemo therapy and half a year of radiation. I mean, it was really hard, but I just look up to him. How he went through his obstacles, I'm pretty sure I can go through mine."

Demondtae Sledge is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma. He said, "Now, I'm just working and improving, trying to get like him, make the basketball team at school."

The visit with Curry was relatively short, but it was a moment that will last a lifetime.
