WB lanes of San Mateo Bridge closed due to crash
All westbound lanes are closed after a police chase and crash just east of the toll plaza in Hayward.

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- All westbound lanes of Highway 92 are closed after a stolen police car crashed into two cars during a chase just east of the San Mateo Bridge toll plaza in Hayward.

Hayward police first responded to an initial car crash at 9:23 p.m. in the Hayward Hills at Oaks and Roxbury. The person involved in the crash was getting medical attention from Hayward firefighters. When police arrived on the scene the man stole a police car and fled the scene.

Police later spotted the stolen car on Jackson Street near the bridge entrance and then pursued the suspect. The suspect crashed into two cars on westbound Highway 92 between Clawiter and the toll plaza. The suspect was taken into custody.

People inside the two cars were given medical aid and they suffered minor to moderate injures.

The lanes are expected to remain closed for at least two hours.
