Temperatures around the Bay Area will be sizzling on Tuesday and Wednesday. The beach in Santa Cruz on Monday was already pretty busy, and you can expect it to be packed with people trying to cool off by the end of this holiday weekend.

ABC7 Weather Anchor Spencer Christian says an Excessive Heat Watch will be in effect from Wednesday at 2 p.m. to Friday at 8 a.m. for much of the Northern Sacramento Valley.

He says highs will be in the upper 60s at the coast, near 90 around the bay, and 101 to 105 degrees inland. The intense inland heat will not begin to taper off until Thursday and Friday, but even then highs will still be in the mid-90s.

And although it will be hot in many inland locations, Spencer says the only spot that's projected to break a record on Tuesday is Gilroy.
